Course Outline
Night Vision Goggle (NVG) basics is exactly as the title says, a basic introduction to the use of your night vision equipment. This course is designed to give students the skills and knowledge necessary to use both their pistol and rifle while utilizing night vision. This course will cover gear selection, white light versus night vision, zeroing, and movement drills. Instructors will teach students how to problem solve so they can continue to further develop their skills with NVG devices.

Equipment Required
- Reliable ar-15 style rifle
- Reliable handgun
- IR laser aiming device for rifle
- Night vision goggles or monocular
- Helmet or head strap to support night vision device
- Handgun weapon mounted white light or handheld white light
- Rifle weapon mounted white light
- Rifle sling
- Outer waistband (OWB) or inner waistband (IWB) style holster
- 3 functional rifle magazines
- 3 functional handgun magazine
- Minimum 1 magazine pouch for rifle
- Minimum 2 magazine pouch for pistol
- Belt rig, chest rig, or plate carrier to support rifle and handgun magazine(s)
- Eye and ear protection
- 700 rounds of handgun ammunition
- 600 rounds of rifle ammunition
- Appropriate range clothing (we will train in the rain or sun)
- Handgun/rifle cleaning equipment
- Batteries
